EWB SRM Kattankalathur Student Chapter conducted the second edition of SRM Indian Energy Conference on 12th and 13th of August, 2017 at SRM University, Kattankalathur. SRM Indian Energy Conference is a platform fully dedicated to discuss, debate and analyze various aspects of energy across the world. Set in a Model United Nations (MUN) model, SRM IEC aimed at providing a chance to the student community to represent countries, organizations or individuals at a conference simulating international and national level discussions and in turn work on crucial issues and solutions in energy and its relevant sectors. The event was a grand success and had a participation of 135 delegates from various colleges. The inaugural was presided over by Dr. Mangalam Balasubramniam, Founder of Exnora Green Pammal. Delegates along with Executive Board Members took part in intense diplomatic debate over energy-related issues based on pre-set agendas. SRM IEC 2017 gathered five different committees, each comprising of its own body of delegates. Each committee focused on specific realms of energy— Committee for Energy Protocols, Committee for Persistent Past, The Futuristic Committee, The Council for Environment Security and The Indian Council for Energy Development. At the end of 2 days of discussions, each committee came up with detailed Resolutions for their respective agendas. The best delegates were awarded with prizes by Mr. Adithya Pasupuleti, Co-Founder of Sensors without Borders, in the Valedictory Ceremony.
